My name is Alison Heintz. I was born and raised in rural central Wisconsin which I still call ‘home’ today. My childhood involved spending a great deal of time outdoors. Most summers were spent at the family cabin fishing, swimming, and picking berries (with the bears). My time at the cabin as a child taught me the importance of patience, respecting nature, and appreciation for quality family time. Now as a mother, I strive to install these values on to my own children while at the cabin. Watching sunrises and sunsets on the lake calms my soul.

Throughout school I played a wide variety of sports and participated in collegiate track and field. Being a member of the team provided me with the sense of family that I was missing while away at college. I continue to play volleyball year-round in various leagues. We Adapt has a strong emphasis on physical movement as a way to build connections. I strive to focus on providing compassion, unconditional positive regard, and encouragement to others as they navigate their own health and fitness journey.

I graduated from Carroll University with a bachelor’s degree in psychology. Then obtained a master’s degree in art therapy from Mount Mary University. As a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Art Therapist I rely on the creative process and power of connection. I work in a wide variety of artistic forms and expressions to promote healing within the therapeutic relationship. I have a passion for helping individuals through the transformative power of art.
