I grew up in Menomonie Wisconsin in a big family. When I was about 14 my parents got me a set of old cement weights they found on the side of the road. I started lifting and learning different exercises just off the internet. After I had been lifting on my own for a while, my mom decided to bring me into the new CrossFit gym that had just opened in town. She wanted me to have a coach that could teach me the lifts so I could perform them safely and correctly. It was not long before the gym became like a second home to me. It was there I found other people who also enjoyed walking upside down, hanging from the pull up bar and finding new ways to challenge themselves. I finally felt like a fit in somewhere, and I have been passionate about fitness ever since.

In my junior year of high school, I joined the National guard to pay for college. Basic training instilled in me a strong work ethic and many other values that I carry with me today. When I returned home from Basic Training, a coaching position had opened at my home gym, where I first began. It was a no brainer for me, and I quickly worked to earn my CrossFit Level 1 and eventually began coaching at that same gym where I learned to love fitness. Recently, I have started coaching individuals with Down Syndrome, Autism, and other developmental disabilities and I have found it very rewarding. I hope to impact the lives of all the people I coach in a positive way just like mine was impacted when I first walked through the doors of the local CrossFit gym, I still call my second home.
