Service Array: Individual Skill Development and Enhancement

My name is Ethan Roach, and I grew up in Chippewa Falls, WI. As the oldest of
five siblings, this created a very chaotic but interesting environment during my
childhood.

Life felt fairly ordinary until high school, when I began to struggle with significant
anxiety, particularly related to school. When my anxiety got worse, I found myself
slipping into depression and often isolated myself in my room. I turned to alcohol and
drugs as a way to cope.

At 17, my parents recognized that I needed support beyond what they could
provide, so they made the difficult decision to send me to a rehab facility. It was there
that I discovered my passion for helping others facing similar challenges. Over the
course of a month, I had a lot of therapy sessions. Because of this I have been able to
find self-love again.

When I returned home, I focused on developing healthier coping mechanisms for
my anxiety and depression. I embraced the outdoors through hiking, camping, and
fishing, and I learned the importance of mindfulness, which became invaluable for
managing panic attacks.

Today, I am grateful to have found a career that allows me to support others in
achieving their mental health goals. It’s fulfilling to be part of their journeys toward
healing and self-discovery.
