Individual Skill Development and Enhancement

I was born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. I was brought up in a very strict household my father is an educator in the Milwaukee public school system and a very religious man. Even though I had a family that tried their best to shelter me, the north side of Milwaukee neighborhood I grew up in had a lot of negative influences I would succumb to in my teenage years. My grades started to drop, and my social interests would change. As much as I loved basketball I stopped working on my game and put more focus on impressing the crowd I wanted to be accepted by. I developed some pretty bad habits and addictions. I no longer strived for greatness but instead found myself always looking for the easy way out. I always felt I wasn’t living up to my full potential, even felt disappointment from my family but couldn’t find the proper motivation to change my destructive past. The change occurred once my oldest daughter followed down a similar path, the first time I had to hire a Lawyer for her and fight to keep her out of Juvie. I was determined to put her on the right path, but I knew it started with myself. I started reading and studying again. I focused on getting myself a daily routine to help bring the discipline of my childhood back into my life. Once I got serious about this path there were ppl in my life that no longer were around, but I was able to build stronger bonds with the more positive people around me and even met knew people that fit my new life better. I started coaching basketball and mentoring. It’s by far what I look forward to most in a day, using basketball to help young people develop discipline and implement winning habits that can be used in all areas of life. I’m at a place in my life where I’m focused on creating a balance putting so much good in the universe to offset the negative, I filled it with during youth.
