Individual Skill Development and Enhancement

Currently serving at C. C. We Adapt, I aim to embody resilience and determination. I am an addict and alcoholic. I believe my story is one of triumph from the abyss of despair to a life filled with purpose and compassion.

Growing up as a half Mexican in a predominantly white town, I grappled with identity issues, leading to feelings of shame and insecurity. The void developed within me was filled with substances that would pull me into a cycle of self-destruction. From a suicide attempt to massive debt, from living among dangerous individuals to being completely isolated, my life spiraled into chaos.

Beneath the surface, the seeds planted by my mentors and role models and parents were quietly germinating. When my life was unraveling, these seeds of resilience sprouted, transforming me into a force of change. My life took a turn when I received a helping hand from a friend who gave me a couch to sleep on and food. My journey to reclaim my life began. I worked 10–12-hour days, every day, for 57 consecutive weeks, often walking over 20 miles in a day, while rebuilding my life.

Now, my goal is to plant seeds of resilience in others. Just as my mentors did for me, I aim to foster strength and hope within individuals. Drawing upon my own experiences, I work to ensure that when others face tough times, they too can pull themselves out of the fire.I attempt to channel my personal journey into my work, providing empathy and understanding to those facing similar challenges.
“A society grows great when those in it plant trees in whose shade, they know they shall never sit,” I dedicate my life to planting these metaphorical trees, providing shade for future generations. My story stands as a testament to the power of resilience, the potential for transformation, and the endless capacity for human adaptability.
