Individual Skill Development and Enhancement

I was born and raised on the South Side of Milwaukee. There, I grew up around a very diverse
group of people. In that area I experienced gang violence, many different drugs, and broken families. I decided in high school that I was not going to go down the path of self-destruction. I studied self help books and customs and courtesies of the corporate world to apply that knowledge into my own work ethic. After high school I decided to join the Army Reserves with the hopes that I can get into a good college. I have deployed three times in the Army, and once as a contractor and learned so much about different cultures and the world! Now I am the head of sales for an analytical laboratory, at Marquette college for political science/Pre-Law, and mentor veterans through the Milwaukee VA Veterans Treatment Court.

When I am not at school or work, I am at home hanging out with my two kids! I have a 4-month-old, and a stepson that is 4 years old. I enjoy fostering a great relationship with my kids, especially teaching them using methods appropriate for their age ranges. On weekends, my  nephew comes to visit. He has Wolf-Hirschhorn Syndrome which is slow growth in development.  He is also non-verbal and confined to a wheelchair. That doesn’t stop us from enjoying the sun or hanging inside listening to his favorite music!

I also understand the importance of fitness and living a healthy lifestyle. I dedicate time every day to strengthen my body through weight training and calisthenics. I love to work out with other people to help each other achieve fitness goals! My mentees through the VA also value my input for
reaching their goals as well. I think that physical exercise can help an individual by setting short/long term goals, getting frustration out, and  building bonds.

This individual is an Independent Contractor through Milwaukee Turners.
