I have lived in Florida, Minnesota, and Wisconsin. I was adopted into a loving family that gave me another chance at life and I am 1 of 5 children. As I got older, I’ve had to face abuse and struggled to find coping mechanisms. At the age of 17 I was introduced to drugs and that led to an on and off addiction for the next 8 years.
I was 21 when I was at my lowest and didn’t want to fight life anymore. I was hospitalized and went through a Transition program at Mayo that helped me with life skills and getting back on track. It was then when I decided to get sober. Eventually I moved to Florida and lived with my birth mom. Experiencing that environment really put things into prospective of a road I almost went down. After living there for 7-8 months I moved in with my partner in Saint Paul, Minnesota and relapsed shortly after. After a year of living there I moved back to my hometown Eau Claire, Wisconsin.
Since being home I have gotten really into yoga and the benefits of good nutrition. Currently I’m working on obtaining my yoga license. I love the motivation, discipline, and the creative outlet it gives me. I want to use what I’ve learned to help others in their journey. My vison is to use an enjoyable holistic approach with situations to use to one’s advantage.
