I was born in Caguas, Puerto Rico where I lived until the age of three when I migrated to the United States. From the hood to the woods, I spent most of my life growing up in the streets of New England, where I made about every mistake you could before turning my life around and finding my purpose. At age 16, a farewell letter to my Gloucester High classmates landed my journey of homelessness on the front cover of the Gloucester Daily Times, article titled: Homeless Is Not Who I Am.

Today I am a resident of Eau Claire, WI where I live with my fiancé Martha Benitez, mother of my three children, and am the owner of The Dapper Man Barbershop. As the bestselling author of The Resurrection Plant: Your Pain Is Your Path To Greatness, coach and speaker, I help others turn their suffering into stones on their path to greatness.

My work has been featured on a reflection essay published in a University of North Carolina peer reviewed journal for the Dialogues in Social Justice: An Adult Education Journal focusing on adult learning and mass incarceration. My story has also been featured in Volume One Magazine, Rumbo Magazine, and in February of this year a 23-year follow-up article of my amazing journey from homelessness to author was published in the Gloucester Daily Times.
