I grew up in Eau Claire, WI, with my mom raising me and my brother as a single mom. She did a pretty great job with us. Growing up I struggled with my mental health, I constantly felt as if I had this societal pressure on me where I had no idea who I was or who I wanted to be. I had a difficult relationship with my father until I was 14 years old, when I decided to no longer allow myself to be subjected to this. Due to all of this I struggled with depression and anxiety. I struggled with suicidal thoughts and actions that I had for a large portion of my life. Having a social worker as a mom, I was encouraged to go to therapy to help me learn new coping skills. Some of these experiences weren’t a good fit, but I eventually found a really great therapist who’s helped me find ways to deal with my depression and anxiety.

After I graduated from high school, I decided to pursue higher education and eventually moved to Milwaukee for college. This was a hard transition, being so far away from everything I knew, but I eventually made friends and built my own community. I graduated from UW-Milwaukee with my Bachelor’s in Business Administration in 2021 with my focus in finance, and moved back to Eau Claire.

In the last year, I have taken the time to go on a self-journey to find who I am. I found out that I really enjoy yoga, working out, reading, and spending my time with my dog Luna. I want to be able to make a positive impact in the world and help with the stigma around mental health.
