Individual Skill Development and Enhancement

I grew up in Shorewood, WI. I was the middle child of three children. At a young age was when my struggles with anxiety/ocd started. Any big change or transition was difficult for me. My parents took me to therapy at a young age to try to help me cope with it. When I was 14 years old, I discovered drugs and alcohol. I felt like a completely different person when I was drunk or high. It eased my insecurities and anxiety. I would drink anytime that I had the chance. I did not feel comfortable in my own skin while I was in high school. Alcohol and drugs made me feel comfortable with myself.

At the age of 18, I found out that my dad had leukemia. He was sick for two years. During this time, I really struggled with his diagnosis and found it hard to cope. My use of drugs and alcohol progressed. I ended up getting sober in March 2014 and my dad passed away in June of 2014. I am so grateful that I was able to get sober before my dad passed away. Since I have been sober, I have had a lot of ups and downs. Without sobriety I would not be where I am today. I ended up going back to school to get a degree in Social Work, graduating in 2020.

Since graduating I have worked with juveniles most of my career. I worked at Pathfinders youth shelter for 1.5 years. I loved working with at-risk youth and helping them to feel safe and heard while they stayed with us at the shelter. I then went on to work at La Causa as a wraparound care coordinator. There I was able to develop longer relationships with my clients by seeing them every week. I then moved on and worked as a juvenile probation officer for Milwaukee County.

Soon after my career began in social work, I met my best friend and the love of my life. We started a life together and met in the program of AA. We both have the same goals in life and want to be the best versions of ourselves. We welcomed our first child in May of 2022. I am juggling being a mom, partner, student, and a good friend. I am eager and passionate about helping others reach their goals and be their best selves.
